BREW GUIDES
AeroPress — quick and forgiving.
A round, full cup in under three minutes. The AeroPress is the most forgiving method we teach — hard to ruin.
- Ratio
- 1:14
- Coffee
- 17g coffee
- Water
- 240g water at 90°C / 194°F
- Grind
- Medium-fine — slightly finer than table salt.
Method
Set up.
Place a paper filter in the cap and rinse it with hot water. Screw the cap onto the chamber and place it on top of a sturdy mug.
Dose and pre-wet.
Add 17g of coffee. Pour 50g of water and stir gently for 10 seconds — every ground should be wet.
Fill and steep.
Pour the remaining water to 240g total. Insert the plunger just enough to form a seal — this stops the brew from dripping. Steep for 1 minute 30 seconds.
Stir, then press.
Lift the plunger, give the slurry one gentle stir, and re-seal. Press down slowly — about 30 seconds for the full press. Stop the moment you hear the hiss.
Serving
Top with hot water to taste if the cup is too concentrated. The AeroPress is also a great travel brewer — the plastic body survives a backpack.
