WHY KHALIL
"An imported brand can copy a design system. No one can copy a neighborhood that opens onto your morning cup."
Most specialty coffee in Saudi Arabia is imported — name, palate, and all. The brand names are British, Japanese, Australian; the aesthetic travels from Melbourne to Brooklyn to Riyadh with the same flat-white photography and the same minimal grids, as if no history before that one was worth telling.
Khalil is the counter-position. We source from the world's best origins because great coffee comes from many geographies. We roast in Riyadh because the culture of the cup — qahwa, dallah, finjan — was first written in Najd and the Hijaz. And we lead with where we live: a small shop in Irqah, with our khilan — our companions — who share the cup with us every day.

VISIT
A bar, a bag, a quiet room.
The Khalil café sits in Irqah, on the western edge of Riyadh — a small bar where every bag on the shelf was on a farm in this past harvest. Come in, taste, take a bag home.
